Ordinances - a piece of legislation enacted by a municipal authority. It is a law or decree by a local law. 

Canon - a Church decree or law.

Decree - an official order issued by a legal authority. 

Law - an individual rule as part of a system of law. 

Edict - an official order or proclamation issued by a person in authority. 

Command - an authoritative order. 

Order - an authoritative command, direction, or instruction. 

Statute - a written law passed by a legislative body. 

Rule - one of a set of explicit or understood regulations or principles governing conduct within a particular activity or sphere. 

Regulation - a rule or directive made and maintained by an authority.
